I serve in the Young Women's in my ward and it is that time of year! New Beginnings! We decided to do a "Carnival Theme"! We didn't want to make this a boring, just sit there and listen activity so we had three different booths. Well, let me start at the beginning. As they entered we had them go into the RS room and we gave them a # as a family 1-3. This decided which booth they would start at. In the RS room we had it all decorated cute (forgot to take a pic :( ) and had all the new Beehives coming in this year sit on the front row. We had opening prayer and theme, then intro from the YW pres, and then we spotlighted each new Beehive. One of the other YW read the spotlight, they each came up and their baby pic was displayed on a big screen! So, cute! I love baby pics! They were each given a bag of valued colored M&M's with a cute handout about Making the Most out of Young Women's! Then we split to the gym, and they each started at a booth depending on the # they got. Each booth was different. The first was a spotlight of our Seniors graduating(we have 10 of them), and wanted to do something special for them! Then second was about Personal Progress, the Values, and the New 2012 Theme "Arise and Stand Forth". Then third was the Secretary and Camp Director. The Secretary went over calendar events and things happening this coming year. And the Camp Director went over camp stuff, had parents fill out forms, and answer any questions they had, because for the first time in like 50 years our stake is going somewhere different than where they have always gone before. So, as you can imagine there were questions! ;) We rotated about every 15 min with a ringing of a bell! For the refreshments at each station they had something for them to munch on. #1 had popcorn, #2 had Churros (ones from Costco, cut in half!), and #3 had cotton candy. And also for fun in the middle of the gym we had a candy table with all different kinds of candy with little bags that they could fill. This Table was a hit!!! The parents and the girls loved this part! We had to pull them away after each rotation! And water was on this table too! Also, to add to the fun we had a jar filled with candy at each booth, and had them guess how many candies were inside. The winner got to take the jar home! It was a great night! We had lots of compliments on it, and how fun it was!
